Peggy left this earth the morning after Mother’s Day on May 11, 2020. She passed at home with her daughter, Sue, and her husband of 73 years, Lorren, at her side. Sue and Lorren were Peggy’s primary caregivers during her progressive dementia that eventually left her as helpless as a baby.

Peggy was a 65 year Whatcom County resident. She moved to Sumas from Stampede Pass with Lorren and their daughters in 1955. While raising her daughters and 3 grandchildren, she worked as a waitress at Handerson’s Drive-In, the Sumas Duty Free Store, and retired after 18 years at N.G. Jensen Customs Brokers.

Peggy and Lorren raised 2 batches of children over a span of 50 years. After their 4 daughters, Sandra, Christina, Marian, and Sue; they raised Chris’s children, Merrill, Cyprus, and Geneva (Jenny). As of Mother’s Day, Peggy’s tally is 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her two daughters Sandy and Christina.

Peggy is survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Parkinson (Bellingham) and Joanne Thurlow (St Maries, ID). Christina’s children are Merrill and Cyprus Tucker, and Geneva Luna. Marian’s children are James, Brian, Phillip and Ben Amble, and Adrianne Siemsen. Sue’s children are Dylan and Zachary Corriveau.
